Privacy Policy

Effective November 8, 2026

1. About this policy

Ludo Nights (“Ludo Nights”, “we”, “us”) is a browser-based Ludo game available at ludo-nights.pages.dev. This policy explains what information the game collects, why, where it is stored, and how you can have it deleted.

By signing in or playing Ludo Nights, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you don’t agree, you can still play offline without signing in, or stop using the game.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what the game needs to work.

When you sign in with Google

  • Account identifier: a unique user ID created by Firebase Authentication.
  • Basic Google profile: your display name, the link to your Google profile photo, and your email address. Google shares these with the sign-in service.
  • Last seen time: the date and time you last signed in or opened the game while signed in.
  • Display name you choose: if you change your name on your Profile screen, we store the name you pick.
  • Online match statistics: games played, wins and losses from completed online matches, plus a record of which matches have been counted so none is counted twice.

When you play

  • Games played on one device (offline, pass-and-play or against bots) run entirely in your browser. Their moves, dice rolls and results are not sent to or stored on our servers and do not count toward your stats.
  • Online rooms: when you create or join a room, we store the room code, your display name, Google profile photo link, seat, whether you’re currently connected, and every move and dice roll in the game, so that all players’ phones stay in sync.
  • Match records: for each online game, we record who played, who won, and when it started and finished.
  • Chat and reactions: chat messages you send in an online room (up to 50 characters each, with your display name and the time), and the latest emoji reaction you tapped. Reaction sounds play from files on the website; no audio from your device is recorded or sent.
  • Only the result of a completed online match (win or loss) is added to your statistics.
  • Player names you type on the setup screen, and your sound and theme preferences, are saved only in your browser’s local storage (see section 6).

What we don’t collect

  • We don’t access your Google contacts, Drive, Gmail, calendar or any other Google data.
  • We don’t collect your precise location, payment details or government identifiers.
  • We don’t use advertising cookies, analytics tools or cross-site tracking.

3. Google Sign-In

Signing in is optional. When you choose Continue with Google, a Google window opens where you sign in directly with Google. Ludo Nights never sees or stores your Google password.

We request only Google’s standard basic-profile permissions (name, email address and profile photo). With your permission, Google shares this information with Firebase Authentication, which then confirms to the game who you are.

Your use of Google Sign-In is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can see or remove Ludo Nights’ access at any time from your Google Account under Third-party apps & services.

4. How Firebase stores your data

Ludo Nights uses Google Firebase, a service run by Google LLC, for sign-in and data storage.

Firebase serviceWhat it holdsPurpose
Firebase AuthenticationUser ID, email address, display name, profile photo link, sign-in provider (Google), account creation and last sign-in timesLets you sign in and stay signed in
Firebase Realtime DatabaseYour player profile (display name, Google name, profile photo link, profile creation time and last seen time) and your online match statistics (games played, wins, losses, and the IDs of counted matches), stored under your user IDShows who you are in the game and keeps your profile and stats the same on every device
Firebase Realtime Database (rooms)Online rooms: room code, host, the players’ display names, photo links and seats, connection status, game settings, each game’s moves and dice rolls, chat messages, and each player’s latest reaction. Match records: players, winner, start and finish timesLets friends play together from their own phones, with everyone seeing the same game

Our Realtime Database is hosted in Google’s asia-southeast1 (Singapore) region. Firebase Authentication data is processed by Google and may be stored in the United States and other countries where Google operates. Google processes this data on our behalf under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms. More details are in Privacy and Security in Firebase.

To keep you signed in, the Firebase SDK saves a sign-in token in your browser’s storage (IndexedDB). It is removed when you sign out.

5. Player profiles

When you sign in, Ludo Nights creates a player profile, stored in Firebase so it is the same on every device you sign in on. It contains:

  • your display name. It starts as your Google name (or “Player” if none is set), and you can change it at any time on the Profile screen. Names can be 1 to 20 characters;
  • your Google name, kept so we can use it again if needed;
  • the link to your Google profile photo. We store the link, not a copy of the image, and your browser loads the photo directly from Google. We don’t offer photo uploads;
  • when your profile was created and when you were last seen; and
  • your statistics: games played, wins, losses and win rate (worked out from the other three). Only completed online matches count. Offline games, games on one device and games with bots are never recorded.

Your name and photo appear in the game, for example in the profile chip, on your Profile screen and on your player seat during games. Your email address is not saved in your player profile and is not shown in the game.

Only you can see your profile and stats; our database rules block everyone else from reading them.

In online rooms, your display name, profile photo and whether you’re connected are shown to the other players in that room, and your moves, chat messages and reactions are visible to everyone in the game. Any signed-in player who has the room code or link can view that room’s players and game, so share codes only with people you want to play with. Match records can be read only by the players in that match. We will update this policy before any new kind of information is collected or shared.

Your photo link is refreshed each time you sign in, so if you change your photo in your Google Account, the game picks it up next time. A display name you chose yourself is kept even if your Google name changes.

6. Information kept on your device

Some settings are saved only in your browser’s local storage and are never sent to us:

  • ludo-setup: number of players, the names typed for each seat and which seats are bots.
  • ludo-muted: whether sound is on or off.
  • ludo-theme: whether you chose light or dark mode.
  • ludo-room: the code of the online room you’re in, so you can rejoin after closing the page.
  • ludo-silent-sound: on iPhone and iPad, whether game sounds should play when your device is on silent.

You can remove these at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

7. How we use information

  • To sign you in and keep you signed in.
  • To show your name and photo in the game.
  • To run online rooms, keep every player’s game in sync, and record match results.
  • To keep and show your online match statistics.
  • To keep the service working and secure, for example spotting abuse or fixing problems.
  • To respond when you contact us, including deletion requests.

We don’t use your information for advertising, profiling, or automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. We don’t sell or rent your personal information.

8. Sharing and service providers

We share information only with the providers that run the game:

  • Google (Firebase and Google Sign-In): sign-in and storing player profiles and statistics, as described above.
  • Cloudflare Pages: hosts the game’s website. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect against attacks. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts and jsDelivr: the game loads its font from Google Fonts and the Firebase code from the jsDelivr network. Your browser connects to these services, which receive your IP address and browser details when the files load.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or security of our players, the public, or Ludo Nights.

9. How long we keep it

We keep your sign-in account, player profile and statistics for as long as you use Ludo Nights. Online rooms and match records are kept so games can be resumed and stats can be checked; we may delete old rooms at any time. If you ask us to delete your information, we remove it as described below. Settings stored on your device stay there until you clear them.

10. Deleting your information

You can ask us to delete your Ludo Nights data at any time.

  1. Email tanvirahmedtamal.st@gmail.com with the subject “Ludo Nights data deletion request”.
  2. Send it from the Google account you use with Ludo Nights, or include that account’s email address, so we can find your profile.
  3. We may ask you to confirm the request from that address so no one can delete your account without your permission.
What we delete: your player profile and statistics in the Firebase Realtime Database, your entries in online rooms (including your chat messages) and match records, and your account in Firebase Authentication. We aim to complete requests within 30 days and will confirm by email when it’s done. Copies may remain briefly in Google’s backups before they are overwritten under Google’s normal cycle.

You can also:

  • Change your display name at any time on the Profile screen.
  • Sign out from the profile chip on the setup screen or from your Profile screen. This ends your session on that device but doesn’t delete your profile.
  • Remove access in your Google Account settings. This stops Ludo Nights from receiving your Google profile again, but data already stored stays until you ask us to delete it.
  • Clear site data in your browser to remove settings saved on your device.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 15. We won’t treat you differently for using them.

If you believe we haven’t handled your information properly, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

12. Security

All connections to Ludo Nights, Google and Firebase use encrypted HTTPS. Access to stored data is controlled through Firebase Authentication and database security rules. No online service can be fully secure, but we work to protect your information and keep only what we need.

13. Children

Google accounts have their own minimum age requirements, and Google Sign-In is meant for people who meet them. Ludo Nights does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) without parental consent. Younger players can play offline without signing in. If you think a child has signed in without permission, contact us and we’ll delete their information.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Ludo Nights grows, for example when online rooms are added. We’ll change the effective date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we’ll make that clear in the game before they take effect.
